About the center

The Centre intersectoriel en santé durable (CISD) is a research center that brings together researchers with diverse expertise from UQAC, Université de Sherbrooke, Université Laval, McGill University and the Centre intégré universitaire de santé et de services sociaux du Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean (CIUSSSS), with a common goal: to advance the science of sustainable health.

Mission

The center aims to contribute to building sustainable health through research, innovation and knowledge mobilization, with an interdisciplinary and intersectoral perspective, in response to the major health issues facing the regional communities.

Vision

To be committed to our diverse communities:

  • For scientific advancement in health and well-being at all stages of life;
  • For the development of prevention and intervention tools and models to meet new health challenges;
  • By considering the social and economic benefits of innovations (technological, social and cultural) and knowledge mobilization;

Mandate

To act as a bridge between the center’s researchers, politicians, schools, businesses, community groups and the population of Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean, working to make our region a model for sustainable health.

Executive Committee

Mandate

This committee acts under the chairmanship of the Centre’s direction to define the Centre’s direction and make decisions it deems important. On the recommendation of the Scientific Committee, it is informed of new memberships and approves the use of the Centre’s grants following submission of the activity report. It must receive, study and act on requests, proposals and suggestions submitted by the Scientific committee or any member of the Centre. It may call on the assistance of other persons in an advisory capacity.

 

Structure of representation

  • The Centre Director
  • Four regular members of the Centre elected for three [3] years, representing the different research disciplines of the Centre
  • The President of the CISD Student Committee
  • A research associate who is a professor at a university other than UQAC and who works in the SLSJ territory
  • A representative of CIUSSSS
  • Two citizen partners
  • One healthcare professional
  • One member representing the main partners
  • Any person the Executive Committee wishes to add on an ad hoc

Scientific Committee

Mandate

The Scientific Committee is responsible for advising the direction of the Centre intersectoriel en santé durable on scientific programming, as well as on the prioritization of research projects, our commitments (strategies to support and promote research) and access to technological platforms and available data and samples. It approves membership applications on the recommendation of the direction. It establishes the procedures for evaluating members and maintaining their status.

  • The Director of the Centre intersectoriel en santé durable, who chairs the meeting ex officio.
  • The heads of the scientific disciplines
  • A member of the Student Committee.
